Welcome to the 2006-2007 TEC Participants

Greetings TEC participants. This year’s technology enhanced curriculum project will explore the integration of the emerging technology tools blogs and podcasts. You will create blog and podcast projects for grades 2-12.

In addition, this blog will be a hub for the TEC Project. To get this blog a rockin’ please add a comment to this blog post about what you know about blogs and podcasts. It would be great if you could also include any ideas you have for using blogs and podcasts in your classroom.

  1. Wow! I am thrilled to be here. I can’t wait to try this with my class.

  2. Hi Burt,
This class has been great tonight. I am looking forward to all the rest of them, especially the podcasting part.
I had no clue about the rss stuff-learned alot about that tonight and I can think of ways to use it already.
    Thanks,
    Sara

  3. Great class! I can’t wait to show you the podcasting attempts I’ve made thus far!

  4. I am looking forward to utilizing blogging and podcasting in my classroom. I will start with setting up a blog that will act as the science question of the week. It will give both the students and myself time to get used to the system. Once that is underway, I will move into producing a blog that will allow for parent-teacher interaction.

    Lets get to it!!!!

  5. I am learning a lot. Thanks.
My worry was trying to get tied down to a blog. But now I see it is more than a diary, but a classroom tool! Cool!

  6. I actually have been a “blogger” for a little over a year and I personally love blogging. Last year I started one as a way to track my kitchen remodel. It was really cool to see friends from all over the world log on to my blog to witness my kitchen being demolished. I see blogging as a great tool for enhancing the writing skills of many students. With a blog you can give them a purpose for writing on a topic they enjoy.

  7. I am familiar with blogs as I have a few friends who blog and I like to read what they have to say. I have thought of using them in class as a way to let the students show what they have learned. I have taken a workshop on podcasting and have played around a little with making one. I would like to be able to post some of my lectures and project information for students and parents to review later.

  8. I am inteested in doing two things right away if I am able. I want to have my students do research for a given topic through feeds I provide for them. I need to learn how to safely post student work to the net for all to see (that is parents, family, and friends).

  9. Great information tonight. This is a whole new area for me. It will be interesting to see what my third graders can do.

  10. I am excited about what is possible. Of course doing this with my notes is another matter.I hope to use this as an interview process in social studies.

  11. I just got on Moodle so I am looking for things to use to help reach out to my students. My students are very young so I will have to think out of the box in involving them and their roll in all of this technology.

  12. I am really excited about becoming proficient at blogging in order to introduce it into my classroom. It will take me a lot of practice to be able to use blogging comfortably with my students. I do think it will be worth the effort to be able to engage my students in this great technology activity.

  13. I like to share this tools with the school 7th and 8th teachers and I am sure they will use it. I find blogging very interesting and I will use it with upper classrooms students.
